He has extensive experience in the training and education of police officers in a variety of topics and has served as a member of the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF JUSTICE'S TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP that developed the NATIONAL GUIDELINES FOR CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS. In addition, he has taught in several college-level Criminal Justice programs and has been designated as a VISITING PROFESSOR OF LAW by the Francisco Marroguin Shool of Law in Guatemala City, Guatemala. In addition to his United States cases, he has consulted on cases arising from Germany, Iraq, Italy, Afghanistan, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Iceland.
He is a Vietnam-era veteran of the United States Air Force, a graduate of NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY'S SCHOOL OF POLICE STAFF AND COMMAND (S.P.S.C.) and has also been certified as a NRA FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR as well as a NRA RANGE SAFETY OFFICER.
